First guest announced for FFF 2020…..

Masterclass with Award winning actress Kerry Fox

Collaborating with Actors

Award winning actress Kerry Fox first qualified as a teacher of drama and in recent times has become expert in delivering masterclasses to directors, writers and producers on how to best work with actors. She will explain how creating opportunities for actors to be at their best, ensures that the outcome is far greater than the sum of its parts. She will discuss trust and risk, honesty and openness and give participants exercises as both director and actor. She will attempt to dispel the fear and negative myth that surrounds the acting experience. She will encourage filmmakers to be adventurous, challenging and playful.

Kerry Fox won international acclaim with her first starring role, in Jane Campion’s AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE. She then starred in Danny Boyle’s breakout film SHALLOW GRAVE. She won the Silver Bear for Best Actress for her performance in Patrice Chéreau’s  INTIMACY. Her other film credits include WELCOME TO SARAJEVO, PATRICK’S DAY, STORM, BRIGHT STAR, HOLDING THE MAN, THE DRESSMAKER and TOP END WEDDING. Kerry recently attended both Cannes and Venice film festivals to support Jessica Hausner’s LITTLE JOE and Billie Piper’s RARE BEASTS, both of which screened in the BFILIFF.

Kerry has taught at The BFI London International Film Festival as part of their THINK_SHOOT_DISTRIBUTE programme, at the Berlinale, at The Edinburgh International Film Festival, at Bellrock and for Scottish Screen, We are delighted to add Fastnet Film Festival to the list.
