Friday 24th of May 8pm Double Blind FFF Focus on Horror

This psychological Irish horror, follows seven young test subjects who must face a terrifying side effect, when an experimental drug trial goes horribly wrong. Trapped in an isolated medical facility, they must find a way to escape, and somehow manage to stay awake or else face death. Directed by Ian Hunt-Duffy Written by Darach McGarrigle and stars British actress Millie Brady alongside horror icon Pollyanna McIntosh.

As part of our focus on Horror, and Shorts to Feature, Double Blind will follow the screening of Gridlock plus a Q&A with the scriptwriter of both Darach McGarraigle.

Multi Award-winning short film 'Gridlock' is a thriller set during a traffic jam on a narrow country road. When Eoin's young daughter Emma goes missing from their car, he forms a desperate search party to find her. But as panic takes hold among the other drivers, the search quickly descends into a frenzied witch-hunt, where no one is above suspicion. Starring Moe Dunford, Peter Coonan, Amy de Bhrún and Steve Wall.

Darach McGarrigle is an award winning screenwriter based in Dublin. His short film Gridlock winner of the Best Screenplay at Underground Cinema, toured the world, was nominated for an IFTA and longlisted for the 2018 Oscars. Double Blind is his first feature.
