Regional Filmmaking Masterclass added to the lineup!We’re delighted to welcome Mairtín de Barra, Rachael Power and Paul C. Ryan to present this exciting session.

Filming in West Cork offers unique advantages, from breathtaking landscapes to a vibrant local culture. Mairtín, producer of Damian McCarthy’s Hokum will share insights on regional filmmaking, including being the first Irish Feature shot at West Cork Film Studios and the value of local crews.

Rachael Power from the National Talent Academy will discuss crew skill gaps, training programs, and work placements, while Paul C Ryan from Film in Limerick will explore the role of film commissions in supporting both local filmmakers and incoming productions.

Mairtín de Barra is a Producer for Tailored Films in Dublin. Recent Tailored films productions include the Oscar nominated ‘The Apprentice,’ the TiFF premiered ‘Bring them Down’ and ‘Louise Lives Large,’ a teenage drama series for RTÉ, The Family Channel in Canada and Ketnet in Belgium.  
Rachael Power, Manager of Crew Academy South, develops talent for Ireland’s screen industry. With 16+ years in TV production, she fosters diversity, supports new entrants, and upskills crew. The Academy, managed by Film in Limerick, strengthens the industry through training and work placements.
Paul C. Ryan is Regional Film Manager at Film in Limerick. He works as a producer in both fiction and documentary and also teaches Creative Producing at the European Film College in Denmark where he is also the Vice Principal.
