An entertaining illustrated talk with cinematographer Chris O’Dell BSC. This is not a technical workshop, but is about understanding the crewing process, the on-set protocols, relationships with crew, producers and directors, and attempting to avoid the multiple pitfalls. Presented from a DoP’s perspective it will be of interest to potential directors of photography, directors, producers, and all filmmakers who have ambitions to forge careers in the film industry.

Chris is a graduate of the London International Film School. He travelled widely in the 80’s and 90’s filming documentaries and current affairs programmes. He ran a successful production company making arts and music films for the BBC and other clients. Since 1990 has photographed many very successful TV drama series including Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Sharpe, Hornblower, Inspector Morse, the Morse sequel Lewis, and many other series and single dramas. Chris was a founder member and Chairman of the first Fastnet Short Film Festival in 2009. He lives in West Cork.
